This website both supports and reflects the work of dozens of Teachers College and New York area graduate and undergraduate students who have taken courses in the history of education in Harlem.

They have used resources collected here, conducted oral histories, and created digital exhibits that, after editing, become part of this site. For more information on these Teachers College courses, see the syllabi and a short article describing their approach to case study research.

If you are a teacher or professor interested in using these materials with your classes or working with your students to create digital exhibits consistent with the mission of this site, please email at harlemedhistory@tc.columbia.edu to discuss the possibilities. We would be excited to feature the work of other teachers and students using these materials here, via our regular peer review and editing processes.
